We have chess sets available for use during normal operating hours. Come to the desk in Popular Services and pick one up!

For beginners, advanced, or just curious players, the "game of kings" offers endless hours of fun and can be highly educational. All ages are welcome.

Rainbow TriangleFor the first two weeks of June, drop by Northwest One Neighborhood Library and tell us what makes you proud to be lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, or an ally and get a button to show off your Pride. Get one early enough and you can wear it during Capital Pride week!

All ages welcome, but please keep in mind the buttons have sharp points and small pieces and are not ideal for young children.

Introduce your child to a love of reading and the library at our weekly Wednesday story times. Each week enjoy adapted stories, songs and movement activities that engage children.

Ages birth-36 months.

Story time for ages 3-5 featuring picture books, storytelling and movement.

This is also the open call for class and daycare groups.

If your daycare cannot make this story time, please call 202-727-0971 to schedule a different time.

For safety's sake, there is a limit of 75 participants for each story time.

Remember -- there is a story time at 10 a.m. and another repeated at 11 a.m.

In this course, students learn the parts of the computer, mouse basics, typing, Internet search and electronic mail. This two-hour class meets twice per week for five weeks. 

Prerequisite: none. Pre-registration is required.
