For those who need to come into the world of computers, this is the class for you. Overcome your fears and gain the skills that can get you ready for the workplace. Seats are filled on a first-come, space-available basis.


Instructor: O. Fontem
Venue: Bellevue Library's Main Meeting Room

You will learn to:

  • Identify basic computer components and operating system features.
  • Execute basic mouse techniques.
  • Perform basic keyboard strokes and functions.
  • Identify and navigate the features of the desktop, Internet, email and job applications.
  • Open and exit software programs.
  • Identify and navigate the Windows and internet environments of Microsoft and Firefox software applications.
  • Create and save a document, resume or job application to the desktop, to a flash drive or submit to employer.

Please bring your own flash drive to save class documents, or send them to your email account.

This class holds weekly on Tuesdays @ 1:30 pm in Meeting Room B.

Come watch an animated, anime, or live action film!

Appropriate for families and ages 5 and older.

GNG Guitars Not Guns is a free national music program that uses music as a catalyst to encourage children and teens. This music program fosters personal development and encourage youths to use their creativity to divert themselves from self destructive influences to positive self empowerment. Participants who finish the program of 10 weeks will be rewarded with their very own personal guitar!

Parent or guardian permission is required to attend this class. Each class consists of a maximum of 10 students so please sign up early!

by using the DC Public Library website.

In the Workshop,you will be taught how
to do quick research for papers,
download music, and Stream Videos.

Metro Teen AIDS

Metro TeenAIDS (MTA) provides free, quick, and confidential HIV/STI testing every month in the parking lot of the Parklands-Turner Neighborhood Library. Individuals, ages 13-24, will receive sexual health information and materials, and may get referrals to counseling services.

Join MTA inside Bellevue the fourth Monday of each month, 4:30-7:30 p.m. For more information about Metro TeenAIDS, visit metroteenaids.org or their teen-centered site realtalkdc.org.

If the fourth Monday of each month doesn't work for your schedule, try another day of the week! MTA provides HIV/STI testing at three other Library locations through December 2014.

  • Anacostia - second Tuesday of each month
  • Benning - third Thursday of each month
  • Parklands-Turner - first Wednesday of each month
