math quilt photoUsing brightly colored card-stock paper, children will produce exquisite creations that reinforce math curriculum ideas from simple patterns, symmetry, and shapes all the way up to fractions and geometry.  The individual squares created will be put together to form a public art “quilt” that will display in the library.

children with insectsEntomologist Kay Taub, will lead an interactive workshop for children, which provides an introduction to arthropods (insects and their relatives), focusing on diversity of species and the importance of insects in the ecosystem.
