Baby Lap TimeJoin us for nursery rhymes, songs, bounces, and stories for babies!  This program is interactive for baby and caregiver, and helps babies to develop an awareness for language and books. 

Looking for some great books for your child?  Try D.C. Public Library's Suggested Books for Pre-K, or Fred Rogers Company's Best Books for Babies list!

It's Wednesday afternoon; need a mid-week break from the summer heat? Come by the Palisades Library to watch a teen movie!
If you've never been to the Palisades, you can earn your Library Love Badge for Summer Reading

An activity will be available at 3 p.m.; movies will begin at 3:30 p.m. and be rated PG or PG-13. Snacks will be provided.

LegoLEGO Builders is a free-play session using large Duplo LEGO building blocks, for ages 1½ and up.

All materials will be provided by the library.

TextbookMath homework got you stumped? Don't have any earthly idea how to spell logorrhea? Come get homework help at the library!

Start the school year off right by getting your homework out of the way. Every Monday, there will be a knowledgeable adult here to help you figure out what to do once you've divided something by its circumference.

Girl reading wordless picture bookJoin us for an interactive Story Time that includes songs, rhymes and wordless picture books. Librarians will demonstrate ways to have fun conversations around picture books without words that develop early literacy skills such as vocabulary, sequencing, storytelling, and creativity. All of these skills will help little ones get ready to learn to read and ready for school.

This will take place during regularly scheduled Family Story Time.

Come learn about the flowing movements of this time-honored Chinese martial art which weaves together meditation and relaxation with the wisdom of Chinese medicine.
 
Experience a gentle, traditional movement system which emphasizes softness and stability, comfort and awareness as a path to improved health, and find out why it is celebrated by National Institutes of Health, the Mayo Clinic and  Harvard Medical School.

All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver before participating in the class. 

Participants should wear comfortable clothing that allows free movement.

We will provide chairs for those who want to take a break and observe.

Classes last one hour on the following dates:
