Baby Lap TimeJoin us for nursery rhymes, songs, bounces, and stories for babies!  This program is interactive for baby and caregiver, and helps babies to develop an awareness for language and books. 

Looking for some great books for your child?  Try D.C. Public Library's Suggested Books for Pre-K, or Fred Rogers Company's Best Books for Babies list!

3:00 p.m.

It's Wednesday after school; need a mid-week break? Come by the Palisades Library to watch a teen movie! 

An activity will be available at 3 p.m.; movies will begin at 3:30 p.m. and be rated PG or PG-13. Snacks will be provided.

In celebration of Poem in Your Pocket Day, Palisades Branch will host a night of poetry reading for all ages, where members of the audience become the readers!
Poem in Your Pocket Day!
The schedule is as follows: 

Want to read a poem to the group? Just sign up at the downstairs Reference Desk, and we'll give you a time slot.  Readers of all ages are welcome. All participants who read a poem aloud will receive a small prize.

Select poems submitted by the public will also be read and displayed throughout the evening.

Light refreshments will be served.

Rainbow CloudTake advantage of the beautiful April weather and make mini clouds on Popsicle sticks, complete with rainbow ribbons in the Children's Room. Take them outside and watch them blow in the wind!

Afterwards, be sure to breeze on through our selection of kite books to take home!

Math homework got you stumped? Don't have any earthly idea how to spell logorrhea? Come get homework help at the library!

Beginning in April, start the week off right by getting your homework out of the way. Every Monday there will be a knowledgeable adult here to help you figure out what to do once you've divided something by its circumference. 

Meeting in the Teen Space. 

This program is for students 13 -19.

Bike helmetMay is National Bike Month!  We’re celebrating with several events throughout the month at Palisades Library. 

On Friday, May 9 at 3 p.m., come in with your bike helmet and use our craft supplies to decorate it!

This craft is open to children of all ages.

Bike Maintenance

May is National Bike Month and we’re celebrating here at Palisades Library with several events throughout the month

Join us on Saturday, May 10, at 2 p.m., when Mike Turner, Palisades Library employee, Mt Rainier Bike Co-op member, bicycle enthusiast and commuter, will be leading a workshop on bike safety and maintenance. All ages will be welcome, and the first twenty people to register will be given a special present!
