No experience is required. The class is free.

Library-Con is a multigenerational programming event that will provide information and expose the world of anime/manga, comics, Star Wars, and TV production to library customers of all ages! Come out and connect with the  community through culturally based activities, forums, and crafts held throughout the library.

Beat Club image

Beat Club is a digital music workshop that gives teens the opportunity to create music together in a welcoming environment. Earn the Digital DIY or STEM badges when you participate in this workshop.
 
No previous musical experience is necessary. Using touch-screen digital synthesizers, they play different instruments to create and record songs on-the-fly. Recordings are made available afterwards for free from dcbeatclub.com

WalkersPart of our Mature & Motivated program for our patrons who are 50+, Petworth Pacers is a walking fitness program to help you add a little more pep to your step! Look and feel great and make new friends as we explore the neighborhood, share best practices and use library resources to further our knowledge on health and well-being.

Wear comfortable, movement-oriented clothing and make sure to bring a water bottle.  

This program meets in the Second-Floor Program Room and then we'll be going out into the neighborhood for our walk.

As part of this program, our library branches will be holding educational classes designed to help you take control of your energy use. You will learn how to use Pepco’s online energy management tools and create personalized energy management plans. Children will be given a box, a raw egg, and materials to protect the egg from a drop from the second floor window.
Children will make predictions and see which materials best protect their eggs.

Come to the library as each month we celebrate the work of one of America's most influential directors through the decades. Join some strangers on a train and come north by northwest to Petworth, whether you're a foreign correspondent or a saboteur you'd have to be psycho to miss it! Jim Henson statue It's Snuffleupagus' birthday! What a great opportunity to learn more about the wonderful creatures created by Jim Henson and the Jim Henson workshop. We will have a short informal discussion concerning puppetry and then watch a movie. Light refreshments will be served. For ages 6 and up.
