D.I.Y. Indoor Gardening: Kokedama Plants

Takoma Park Library

Join us as we create kokedama ("moss ball") plants for this D.I.Y. indoor gardening project. A variation of Japanese bonsai, kokedama is a small plant bound in a ball of clay-like soil and moss. The plant can then be suspended from string to incorporate into a hanging garden or simply placed in a decorative dish.

Sewing for Adults and Teens

Sewing for Teens and Adults

These classes will cover basic sewing skills, and in each class we will make a small, hand-crafted sewing project.  We will build our skills week by week.  In this class, adults and teens will be introduced to threading a needle, sewing a button, basic stitching. Adults and teens get to personalize each project through color selection, technique, and embellishments. They will complete projects such as sewing a pillow, headband or scarf.  Also, students can come to class to get basic sewing questions answered.
