google maker campFrancis Gregory Library is now a site for Maker Camp from Google and Make: magazine! Every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, we will be watching a team of makers as they build awesome projects, go on epic virtual "field trips", and interview the world's coolest makers. 

MakerCamp starts at 2 p.m. in the large meeting room upstairs. All kids and teens below the age of 18 welcome. Go to the Maker Camp website for a daily schedule. Call 202-698-6373 with any questions.

kidslovekaraokeBy popular demand, we are bring back "KIDS LOVE KARAOKE" as part of our weekly summer programming primarily for ‘tweens (ages 9 - 13 years old).

Do you have a secret dream of auditioning for American Idol or The Voice?

Rosedale Neighborhood Library will give you the opportunity to have fun while practicing and showing off your vocal gifts in a supportive, friendly environment before you get discovered!

Sign up to participate as a solo or duet act or applaud your friends for their courageous, stellar performances.

Origami Animals is an art program in which children will learn to make animals out of paper.  Each Tuesday in August (with the exception of August 26) they will learn to make progressively more difficult origami.  We encourage to children to attend all three programs, but just dropping in to one or two of them is fine.

Join us on Tuesday afternoons for take-home crafts, games and other activities!

Participate in a science experiment, activity, or craft on alternating Wednesday afternoons at the library. Ages 5 and up. Fizz, Boom, Wednesdays

board gamesTweens, looking for a way to spend your summer afternoons? Join us for some board game action at Petworth Library! Challenge your friends and make new ones while playing some classic favorites such as Clue, Candy Land, Life, Monopoly and many more. 

Program will occur in the Children's Program Room.
Ages 9-12.

pen and paperIt's your time to shine at the library!

Recite a poem, short story, or song at our Open Mic Night being held on select Wednesday nights from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Show off something you've been working on or share an old favorite.

The sign-up sheet will be posted from Wednesday afternoon until 5:45 p.m. First-come, first-served.

We will meet in the board room upstairs. All ages.
