Cover image of L. Peat O'Neil's book Pyrenees Pilgrimage, Walking Across France Author, traveler, and adventurer L. Peat O’Neil will discuss her latest book, Pyrenees Pilgrimage: Walking Across France, a travelogue about her 2010 solo walk on pilgrimage paths from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea through the Pyrenees. She will also discuss travel writing in general.

 A Washington native, O’Neil worked for the Washington Post for twenty years. Her other books include In Search of Adventure: A Wild Travel Anthology, about her adventures in Kamchatka, Siberia; Travel Writing: See the World, Sell the Story; and Travel Writing, A Guide to Research, Writing and Selling. Her travel sketchbooks have been featured in the National Museum of Women in the Arts exhibit Intimate Journeys—Artists Sketchbooks. She also teaches writing at the Writing Center in Bethesda, at the Hill Center, and online for UCLA.

Copies of Pyrenees Pilgrimage: Walking Across France will be available for purchase and signing after the talk.
