Afterschool Lounge

Need a place to sit and chat with friends, play games, or just chill? Come to the Afterschool Lounge on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and use the library's large conference room as a group study room, game space, lounge and snack area. Board and card games are available. Food and drinks are welcome.  Crafts, trivia tournaments, video games, and other activities will be available on a rotating basis. Ages 11-19.

Support empowering women by hitting the road with us!   The Washington Area Bicycle Association's Women & Bicycles and DC Public Library are empowering women through biking!  This feminist history-themed bike ride will stop at four DCPL branches (Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Dorthoy I. Height/Benning, Anacostia and Southwest) for women’s history-related activities and will also feature a photo booth, snacks, and some surprises along the way!
