Meet us in Room 311 (third floor computer lab) for librarian-led instruction and hands-on practice with these valuable resources!

google maker campFrancis Gregory Library is now a site for Maker Camp from Google and Make: magazine! Every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, we will be watching a team of makers as they build awesome projects, go on epic virtual "field trips", and interview the world's coolest makers. 

MakerCamp starts at 2 p.m. in the large meeting room upstairs. All kids and teens below the age of 18 welcome. Go to the Maker Camp website for a daily schedule. Call 202-698-6373 with any questions.

Nihao pengyouAre you learning Chinese in school or speak it with family at home? Practice your Chinese, meet other Chinese speaking families, and make new friends at our Chinese Conversation Corner for children and their families. Participants should know some Chinese already.

bill nye cover imageEvery Friday afternoon, we'll be showing two episodes of Bill Nye the Science Guy, the show that makes science fun for kids!

This program will take place in the Children's Story Circle and is open to kids ages 8-12.

On Fridays at 3 p.m. children will do different science experiments and learn the principles behind them and then watch a related movie. Program will run from July 11 to August 22 (7 programs total) and is appropriate for 6-12 year old children. For information about the next experiment and movie please come by the Georgetown Children's Room and ask a librarian!
