DiaIn celebration of the upcoming Día — El Día de los Niños/El Día de Los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) — our monthly Family Craft will feature a wonderful story and craft that will take readers around the world.

math quilt photoUsing brightly colored card-stock paper, children will produce exquisite creations that reinforce math curriculum ideas from simple patterns, symmetry, and shapes all the way up to fractions and geometry.  The individual squares created will be put together to form a public art “quilt” that will display in the library.

Learn more about the 20th century radical art movement known as Dada.

Experiment with collage, using multicultural text and images to create your own "found poetry."

jackpopsupBring your youngsters to Rosedale Library for early learner board games and fun group games with children’s music in the background. 

Pop up at Rosedale anytime between 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m., we’ll play as soon as three or more children arrive in the Children’s Picture Book Area! 

Appropriate for ages 3 to 7 years.

Crafts at the librarySunday afternoons are for crafts and coloring at Francis Gregory library. Come in and make something to take home - craft, sketch, color, draw or paint!

Children ages 12 and younger and their caregivers are welcome, and all craft supplies will be provided. 

This program is intended for children ages 4-12 and their families.

Join us as we celebrate International Children's Book Day.

Explore the world through eight different children's books and make a postcard to commemorate your journey. You can sketch a part of your voyage or create something entirely abstract; it’s up to you!

Rainbow CloudTake advantage of the beautiful April weather and make mini clouds on Popsicle sticks, complete with rainbow ribbons in the Children's Room. Take them outside and watch them blow in the wind!

Afterwards, be sure to breeze on through our selection of kite books to take home!

Join us for a family games workshop with Kathleen Donahue, owner of Capitol Hill's Labyrinth Games and Puzzles, and learn how to play fun games with your kids (or your parents).

We encourage whole families to attend, and children younger than 9 must be accompanied by an adult.

Mbongi DanceCelebrate African-American Women’s Fitness Month in April!

Dance educator Rehema Afful-Nyannor will teach 'tween and teen youth ages 10 –14 an energetic African Mbongi dance and explore how notable African and young African-American women made history exhibiting power in body, mind & spirit!

Participants will receive a certificate and a small parting gift upon completion.

Zumba Kids is the perfect combination of fun and fitness. Join us as we dance to great music with easy to follow kid-friendly moves.
