Since J.K. Rowling's birthday is this week, we're showing a very special movie based on her best-selling book Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone.  Follow Harry, Ron, and Hermione on their very first journey to Hogwarts, and find out why Harry is known as "the boy who lived." 

You bring the family, and we'll bring the popcorn, plus special wizardly treats!

Rated PG.  Runtime of 148 minutes.

Introduce your child to a love of reading and the library at our weekly Wednesday story times. Each week enjoy adapted stories, songs and movement activities that engage children.

Ages birth-36 months.

Story time for ages 3-5 featuring picture books, storytelling and movement.

This is also the open call for class and daycare groups.

If your daycare cannot make this story time, please call 202-727-0971 to schedule a different time.

For safety's sake, there is a limit of 75 participants for each story time.

Remember -- there is a story time at 10 a.m. and another repeated at 11 a.m.

This summer read aloud program is designed for children birth to age five and their parent or caregiver.  The emphasis will be on stories with a Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design and Math, theme.   Craft, activity or experiment to follow stories.  It is never too early to foster a love of reading and the sciences in your child.
Story time helps children learn and practice early literacy skills in a fun, playful setting. Story time attendees are encouraged to engage with the librarian all while reading stories, singing songs, and learning new rhymes.
