Start your summer off by signing up for DC Public Library's Summer Reading Program! Swing by the Petworth Neighborhood Library for this fun event and enjoy a day of laughter and sunshine. At 10:30, we’ll have a special hour long story-time on the lawn with parachute games. Enjoy more festivities from 12-4 p.m.; we’ll have crafts, a movie, an animation workshop, and more!
Join your Southeast Neighborhood Library to celebrate the start of Summer Reading! 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: All ages can enjoy hero-themed crafts and activities, plus snacks and a superhero photo booth 11 a.m.: Hero story time for families with children ages 0-8.
Bring the family and join us on Saturday mornings for a fun, interactive story time followed by open play time at 11:30 a.m. Children ages birth to 7 years and their caregivers are welcome. For questions, please contact the children's librarian at 202-541-6025.
Baby/toddler lap times are story times for babies ages birth through 24 months and their caregivers. Come enjoy books, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, bounces, and more! Saturday lap time is held upstairs in the children's area of the main reading room. Tickets are not required. Have a group? Please call ahead of time to make special arrangements.

Find out just how many library lovers really like to bike as we celebrate National Bike Month in May 2015! A special bike-to-storytime program is planned in Northeast D.C. and in Northwest D.C., at the beginning and ending of the month! Saturday, May 2, 9:30-11:30 a.m.: Bicyclists of all ages will meet at Southeast Neighborhood Library by 10 a.m. for a ride to Northeast Neighborhood Library, where we will join other Ward 6 families and enjoy an outdoor celebration with stories, crafts and snacks!

Come to this story time and listen to books from and about other parts of the world! With songs and fingerplays in different languages, this story time is a cultural experience for the whole family. Around the World Story Time is for children ages 3-5 and their caregivers. See you there!

Interactive story time with songs, rhymes, and books, for children ages 2-5 and their caregivers. Free tickets are required due to limited space. Tickets are distributed beginning 30 minutes before each story time on a first come, first served basis. Have a group? Please call ahead of time to make special arrangements.
Visit the Parklands Turner Neighborhood Library every Tuesday morning for stories, finger plays, songs and rhymes, all led by the children's librarian. Story time helps children practice and learn early literacy skills in a fun playful setting, and this is a terrific time for parents, guardians and babysitters to select some outstanding materials to check-out and take home For children ages of 0 to 5 years old and their adult companions.
This story time helps children learn and practice early literacy skills in a fun, playful setting.
