Holiday Party

Join us for a celebration of the winter holidays.  There will be games, stories and crafts followed by a festive movie!  This program is great of children of all ages.

French Story Time

French Story Time is for children of all ages. This program includes songs, music and motion and is very interactive. Children have the opportunity to learn Fench songs, practice their French, and connect words with motion, as well as enjoy stories. Come and join us every Thursday at 4 p.m. (except on holidays!)

Pajama Story TIme

Put on your pajamas, grab your teddy bear and join us in the Children's Room for a story time before heading to bed! We'll read stories, sing songs, and perform finger plays together.  Thursday evenings at 6 p.m.

Pop-Up Story Time

Where did all of the pop-up books go?! Don't worry, they're still here! Many of these books are very delicate and not available to check out, but you will be able to read them and handle them in the library! Just drop on by Thursday nights and our children's staff will bring them out for you. Please note that young children must handle pop-up books with a parent.

Family Story Time: Teddy Bear Takeover

Who runs the world? Teddy Bears! Well, not really, but at Petworth Library they will rule for a day! Many Americans celebrate teddy bears twice a year: Sept. 9 (National Teddy Bear Day) and Nov. 14 (National American Teddy Bear Day).  Bring your favorite teddy bear to Petworth Neighborhood Library for a cozy and fun teddy-themed Family Story Time with parachute songs, poems and a group photo. Afterwards, be sure to check out some teddy-centric tales for you and your plush pal to enjoy at home!
