Each weekly program will include songs, fingerplays, action rhymes and picture books. Occasionally, we also hope to have instruments, flannel board stories and puppets.  Groups are welcome.

Join us for books, songs, rhymes, and finger plays as we continue to strengthen early literacy skills while enjoying stories together.  An easy craft activity follows story time each week. Designed for children ages 2 to 5 and their caregivers.

For safety's sake, there is a limit of 75 participants for each story time.

Remember -- there is a story time at 10 a.m. and another repeated at 11 a.m.

Boy Reading BookThis story time helps children with early language and literacy skills through reading stories, singing songs, learning new rhymes and honing visual literacy skills with the librarian.

For ages 3-5 years.

Baby/toddler lap times are story times geared for babies ages birth to 24 months and their caregivers.

Tickets are required for entry. Tickets are available in the Children's Room 10 minutes before Lap Time begins.

Baby Lap TimeJoin us for nursery rhymes, songs, bounces, and stories for babies!  This program is interactive for baby and caregiver, and helps babies to develop an awareness for language and books.

It's a Pajama Party... with doggies!!!

Join us in your jammies for a doggie story time, a take-home craft/project, and an opportunity to read to a PAL dog.

The whole family is invited to join in the FUN!

intermissionIt's intermission time! Pardon us as we take a break from our regularly scheduled programming for vacation and planning/preparatory time for our Fall schedule.

Our programming will resume on Friday, September 5 with a special story time to honor Grandparents' Day at 4 p.m.

Enjoy stories, songs, and fun in the sun at CityCenterDC. Located at 9th and H Street NW, CityCenter's Plaza can be accessed via H or I Street NW, in between 9th and 10th Street NW. Our preschool story time is geared towards children ages 3-5 and will help them develop early literacy skills and enjoy our beautiful summer at the same time!

bookwormWe will sing songs, read books and perform finger plays! Pajama story time is best children ages 2-6 and their adults, but older and younger children are also welcome.

This program will last approximately 20-30 minutes and will take place in the Children's Story Circle.

Pajamas are welcome but not required!

Put on your PJ’s, bring along your favorite stuffed animal, and join us for a family story time!

Every Thursday night we will share stories, songs, and rhymes for all ages as we get ready for bedtime.
