Anime explosion! : the what? why? & wow! of Japanese animation by Patrick Drazen book coverThe Petworth Anime Club gives teens a place to gather, watch and talk about Japanese animation. Films are shown in Japanese with English subtitles and include classics as well as new releases.

The Anime club will meet on the last Wednesday of every month.

Come check out the latest anime shows and anime/manga magazines or come and share your own fanfiction (writing) and fan art (drawing).

Films are shown in Japanese with English subtitles and include classics as well as new releases.  Come check out the latest anime shows and anime/manga magazines or come and share your own fan fiction (writing) and fan art (drawing).

Splintered by A.G. HowardRead the books and watch the movies! Each month will feature a new title chosen especially for teens! Join the discussion, answer trivia questions and have enjoy a great movie. For April’s meeting, we will have snacks and special prizes if you participate!

This month, visit the library to pick up a copy of Splintered by A.G. Howard! This is a fantastical adventure inspired by the incredible original Alice in Wonderland books. According the book, "16-year-old Alyssa Gardner fears she is mentally ill like her mother until she finds that Wonderland is real and, if she passes a series of tests to fix Alice's mistakes, she may save her family from their curse."

Or if you would prefer the classic tale, check out a copy of Louis Carroll's original Alice in Wonderland! There is no time like the present to enjoy this incredible original book where a little girl falls down a rabbit hole and discovers a world of nonsensical and amusing characters.  

Copies are available at the reference desk during the month of April.

Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixRead the books and watch the movies! Each month will feature a new title chosen especially for teens! Join the discussion, answer trivia questions and have enjoy a great movie. For May’s meeting, we will have snacks and special prizes if you participate!

This month, visit the library to pick up a copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J. K. Rowling. In this exciting fifth book in the Harry Potter series, Lord Voldemort has returned, but the Ministry of Magic is doing everything it can to keep the wizarding world from knowing the truth.

They appoint Ministry official Dolores Umbridge as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. When Umbridge refuses to teach practical defensive magic, Ron and Hermione convince Harry to secretly train a select group of students for the wizarding war that lies ahead. A terrifying showdown between good and evil awaits.
