After Friday story time, join us for weekly Scholastic Storybook Treasures for ages 3-7.

11:00 a.m.

Families will be able to enjoy a special age-appropriate movie each Friday in July!

Each movie will reflect the summer reading theme of "Fizz, Boom, Read" and involve some aspect of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).

BatmanTo celebrate the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in comics, Rosedale is doing a special two-day program all about Batman!

At noon on Friday, a police officer will visit to discuss how children and teens can be a “hero” in their community while staying safe. Afterwards children and teens can make their own Batman capes, and we’ll be showing a Batman movie and providing color pages for younger children.

We will also have a special story time, movie, and crafts on Saturday! 


Don't forget to wear your Batman and other Bat-family shirts and costumes!

google maker campFrancis Gregory Library is now a site for Maker Camp from Google and Make: magazine! Every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, we will be watching a team of makers as they build awesome projects, go on epic virtual "field trips", and interview the world's coolest makers. 

MakerCamp starts at 2 p.m. in the large meeting room upstairs. All kids and teens below the age of 18 welcome. Go to the Maker Camp website for a daily schedule. Call 202-698-6373 with any questions.

bill nye cover imageEvery Friday afternoon, we'll be showing two episodes of Bill Nye the Science Guy, the show that makes science fun for kids!

This program will take place in the Children's Story Circle and is open to kids ages 8-12.

On Fridays at 3 p.m. children will do different science experiments and learn the principles behind them and then watch a related movie. Program will run from July 11 to August 22 (7 programs total) and is appropriate for 6-12 year old children. For information about the next experiment and movie please come by the Georgetown Children's Room and ask a librarian!

Batman

To celebrate the 75th anniversary of Batman’s first appearance in comics, Rosedale is doing a special two-day program all about Batman!

For Saturday, we’ll be having an all-day Batman celebration, which includes a special story time all about Batman, special themed crafts, and the showing of a few Batman movies!

Don't forget to wear your Batman and other Bat-family shirts and costumes!
