Charlie and the Chocolate Factory CoverJoin Rosedale's Reel Reading Book Club! Kids read a book and then watch the movie that the book inspired, or the movie that inspired the book. Kids can enjoy a brief group discussion as well!

April's book is Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which spawned two movies! The kids will get to vote on which one they want to watch: 1971 version and the 2005 version.

The result of an unsuccessful, illegal experiment in genetic mutation, Experiment #626 has been locked up by its inventors. The creature escapes to Earth where Lilo, a young Hawaiian girl, mistakes it for a strange dog, adopts it, and renames it Stitch. As Stitch becomes part of Lilo's unusual family life, Lilo's innocence and the aloha, family-friendly spirit of the Islands confuse and ultimately civilize the creature.

Family-themed activity pages will be available for children during the film. This program is especially appropriate for children ages 9 and younger with their families.
