Learn more about the 20th century radical art movement known as Dada.

Experiment with collage, using multicultural text and images to create your own "found poetry."

Dia!  Diversity in Action imageTakoma Park Neighborhood Library will celebrate El Dia de los Ninos with preschool films at 10:30 a.m. and a repeat of the films at 11:30 a.m.

Join Teatro De La Luna for a very special performance of their original production, "Chiquititos/Itsy-Bitsy."

Recommended for preschoolers, this bilingual (Spanish-English) program is a friendly get-together for singing, dancing, playing and having fun!

This event is in conjunction with Diversity in Action's (DIA) Dia de los Niños.

Papel picado are beautiful paper decorations, traditionally made in Mexico. They are put up for Day of the Dead, Easter and Quincineras.

Papel picado are easy to make yourself, and look really cool at a party or hung up in your room.

In honor of DIA (Diversity in Action) join us for a bilingual presentation of The Three Billy Goats Gruff/Los Tres Chivitos Gruff in English and Spanish.

DiaIn celebration of Día — El Día de los Niños/El Día de Los Libros (Children's Day/Book Day) — Wonderful Ones this week will feature multicultural books.

Join us for this interactive story time that encourages early language and literacy skills through stories, songs, and rhymes. Registration is required each week.

Siblings and nanny share buddies are welcome!

This program is limited to the first 25 attendees by ticket only.

Tickets are available at the children’s reference desk for that day's program.

It's a DIA Read-Aloud Story Circle!

Children ages 5-9 will form a reading circle and choose to read aloud from our selection of Easy Readers starring popular characters like: Doc Mc Stuffins, Dora & Diego, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Kai Lan, Katie Woo and Little Bill.

We will enjoy music from a variety of cultures and incorporating several languages for Diversity In Action week!

DIA activity pages will also be provided and all participants will receive a free book of their choice!

Watch the childhood favorite movie involving a magical nanny and a twinkletoes chimney sweep -- in French.

Globe Games Tag, you're it! Come learn about different cultures around the world through a mix of board and playground games.

We are celebrating Día, a day that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Best for ages 5-10.

4:30 p.m.

In celebration of Diversity in Action and El Dia de los Ninos, we will be having a special after-school story time in the Children's room featuring stories from different cultures, songs in Spanish, French and Hebrew, and a craft.

Ages 8 and younger.

Featuring songs, rhymes, and stories from different cultures, this event is for the whole family.
