Tutoring for elementary, middle, and high school students on all subjects Tuesdays from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Provided by KIPP teachers and geared towards KIPP curriculum, but open and free for all!   Children younger than 9 years of age must have a parent present.

Films are shown in Japanese with English subtitles and include classics as well as new releases.  Come check out the latest anime shows and anime/manga magazines or come and share your own fan fiction (writing) and fan art (drawing).

  Teens are invited to participate in weekly poetry and spoken word workshops. The D.C. Youth Poetry Slam Team will host bi-weekly workshops on Wednesday afternoons. Call for specific dates. The D.C. Youth Poetry Slam Team uses poetry to teach and empower teens from the D.C. metropolitan area to speak up about issues of social justice.

The principal language of Ethiopia, Amharic is a Semitic language belonging to the Afro-Asiatic family of languages. It takes its name from Amhara, a central province in Ethiopia and is the second-most spoken Semitic language in the world, after Arabic.   Learn the basics of this fascinating language with Ms. Yacob, every Friday afternoon in Conference Room 1 on the lower level. All ages are welcome!
