Come join us at the new Deanwood Library, Friday, August 6 at 3:00 p.m. for its first Black Theater Festival for Children ages Pre-K - 8 years. The Festival will celebrate extraordinary Stories, Sing-Songs and Jazzy activies, presented by Kelly Marie Berry.
Come make new friends and reconnect with old friends. The club meets the first Monday of the month at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. Engage in thought-provoking conversations and share your interests. At each meeting, the book for the next month is chosen. The Deanwood Library will provide a copy of the book to check out if you have a D.C. library card. Light refreshments are served. Free and open to the public.
In 2006, NFL Veteran Linebacker and Stanford University graduate Chris Draft established the Chris Daft Family Foundation. The Foundation focuses on seven primary initiatives with overarching themes that stress the importance of education, healthy lifestyles, character development, personal responsibility, self-discipline and physical fitness. Number "52" from the Washington Redskins will be hosting a book signing and author talk on Friday, July 16, 2010 at 10:30 a.m.in the Children's Room. Free and all are welcome.
