Eliot Spitzer, disgraced former governor running for NYC comptroller, has taken his campaign national (for some reason), and first stop is "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno;" he'll be up in an hour. 

Pull quote from Jay: "How could you be this stupid?"  

Evoking Jay's famous line to Hugh Grant a century ago: "What the hell were you thinking?" (Well, not quite a century but 1995 - the moment when "Tonight" began an end run around "Late Show with David Letterman" and is still running...)
