The 2012 presidential election in fashion
Fashion should never sway votes, but when candidates are in the public eye, what they wear can make a difference. While Republican candidate Mitt Romney hits the campaign trail in rolled-up sleeves and jeans to connect with the working class, President Barack Obama prefers the power suit. Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan is criticized for how his suits fit, while trend-setting first lady Michelle Obama has been criticized for choosing designers from the wrong countries at times.
