LI 2010 census preparation

U.S. Census Bureau representatives recently held several events to answer questions about the upcoming census. What's at stake for Long Island? Millions of dollars in federal funding for infrastructure, education and other programs -- as well as representation in government. In 2000, Long Islanders were undercounted and wound up losing potential government aid, local officials say. The 2010 census is scheduled to arrive at household addresses March 15-17 by postal mail.
