A pedestrian was killed after he was hit by a vehicle in Wading River early Sunday morning, Suffolk County police said.

Police said Nicholas Pieloch, 20, of Rocky Point, was walking on Route 25A at 3:18 a.m. when he was hit by a 2001 Ford Explorer that was traveling west.

The vehicle then crossed over the eastbound lane, struck a tree and overturned, police said.
