Heckscher Park

Heckscher Park in Huntington, which occupies more than 18 acres, is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is considered historically and culturally significant because of three buildings on the property: an octagonal cobblestone gazebo, a cobblestone cottage and the Heckscher Museum of Art building. They were all built when the park was established in 1920 by August Heckscher, a wealthy industrialist and philanthropist, on the site of the former Ezra Prime Thimble Factory.
