The costumes will be colorful and the music will be festive, but tonight’s Cuban-themed runway show in Patchogue will be all about the hair.
Ralph Capozzi, owner of Capozzi Salon & Co. in Sayville, is hosting his fifth annual Shear Runway Project this evening at The Emporium located at 9 Railroad Ave. in Patchogue.
After months of preparation, Capozzi’s stylists will go head-to-head, unveiling the hair designs they have created in keeping with this year’s theme, “Another Cha Cha.” A panel of judges will select a winner, who will receive a prize of more than $500.

Capozzi has been hosting this friendly contest since 2009 as a way to challenge his stylists, but to also raise funds for causes he cares about. Proceeds from this year’s event will go America’s Vet Dogs, which provides companion dogs for injured veterans.
Admission to the event is $50 and includes a cocktail hour, featuring an open bar with wine and beer and complimentary hors d'oeuvres. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at The Emporium’s box office.
