Village of Plandome trustees voted Tuesday to hike the maximum penalties for zoning and other offenses, while holding off on tweaking its noise ordinance to allow for generators to run during power outages.

Former Long Beach City Councilman Michael Fagen was released from jail after serving 17 days of his 30-day sentence in a larceny case.

Fagen, who faced up to 4 years in prison, was sentenced on June 12 by Justice Meryl Berkowitz in Nassau County Court in Mineola. He served his sentence in the Nassau County Correctional Center in East Meadow until he was released on June 28.
