Stop by the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library this November and December for all your gift-shopping needs! The DC Public Library is hosting pop-up shops by the Heurich House Museum and Metro in New Books on the first floor of the library. The shops open on Small Business Saturday, Nov. 25 and will be open through Sunday, Dec. 17. Don't miss your chance to buy locally made and designed products and transit-themed items, including some exclusive merch that you won't find anywhere else this season!
The Markt: Heurich House & DCPL
A Shop by the People of DC, for the People of DC! The DC Public Library is partnering with the Heurich House Museum to open a holiday shop featuring locally-made and Library-themed goods: The Markt at MLK. Find over a dozen products for gift-giving this season at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library.
The Markt at MLK was curated by Heurich House Museum, who for over the last decade has dedicated their public service mission to supporting the area’s small scale makers. The museum hand-selected locally made products from eight makers including Second Story Cards, DC is My City, Terratorie, All Very Goods, Bicycle Trash, Sio Ceramics, and Wick & Paper. The shop will feature a new limited edition t-shirt design from Bailiwick Clothing Company, celebrating the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library as a vibrant center for the city.
The Library worked with its in-house Maker Space and Machinery Fabrication Lab to create a set of four wooden coasters which highlight elements of the library space, experience, and story. T-shirts and totes bags from MLK Library Friends, including the Punk Archives and the Go-Go Archives designs, as well as the Mt. Pleasant Library Friends “What’s More Punk than a Public Library” design will be for sale.
The Markt at MLK will be open seven days a week on the first floor of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library at 901 G St NW. The Markt is open to the public and free to visit.

Metro Holiday Pop-Up Shop
Metro’s First Stop Pop-Up Shop is open for a limited time! Find limited-edition Metro merch and souvenirs you can only find in-store, as well as ornaments, toys, and other unique gifts to give to your loved ones this holiday season. Their pop-up is only here for 3 weeks, so make sure to stop by and grab all your gifts before they’re gone.
Items will include, limited edition holiday-themed Metro items, including cards, wrapping paper, ornaments, socks, sweatshirts, and long-sleeve shirts. You will also find exclusive Metro merchandise featuring puzzles, socks, totes, T-shirts, and towels.
