Hi, all! It’s Ava. What a grand time I had at the library tonight. I just love being around kids. Normally I spend my days visiting children in hospitals or going on National Park hikes. You see, I am a certified PAL dog
So a trip to the library was a lovely change. It was my first time at the Chevy Chase Library, so there were a lot of new things to see and smell. Truth be told, the best-smelling thing was those scrumptious T Bonz treats that looked and smelled like mini filet mignons!
What luck! I couldn’t get enough of those delights. I stood on my hind legs, sat prettily, listened attentively to stories, whatever it took to have another yummy bite. Well, wouldn’t you? But I digress…
Let’s see, some of the other highlights of my evening were belly rubs... Boy, oh boy, did I like that. Those kids had the touch, I tell you! And the stories… Lots of stories! Miss Julie read a funny story about a dog that got adopted, just like me! It was called Dog Donovan by Diana Hendry and illustrated by Margaret Chamberlain. And a nice family read Go, Dog. Go! by P.D. Eastman to me. I loved the picture of the dog on the front cover driving a car. Wag. Wag. Wag.
Oh, and I went on a few strolls and light jogs around the library, I needed to stretch my legs. A girl’s got to get her exercise, you know! Oh, and I almost forgot. There was another dog who was a special guest just like me. Her name is Nessie, but I’ll let her tell her own story. I had such fun at the Chevy Chase Library. I can’t wait to go back. I am going to go check my schedule.
