Book Club Selection for January

Join us January 11 at 7 p.m. for a discussion of Kathryn Stockett's The Help In this debut novel of surprising mastery, she has recreated a place and time through fully rounded characters. A young white fledgling author recruits collaborators from domestic staff of friends and family to write a picture of what it means to work and live black in a white society.  Set in the South in the early days of the civil rights movement, "The Help" gives us more than race relations, it mirrors a multilayered community.
