Hi. I am a happy fellow. I love to play, to have treats, and to read books (in that order!).
It was an ultra-happy night for me. I was in a playful mood. No particular reason. I just felt happy. It was an energetic sort of happy. I was a man on the move. I wanted to play. I wanted to visit with my friends. I wanted to live large at the library! And the night just got better and better. My PAL pal Harpo was there. It was fun to see him and his name begins with an “H”, just like mine! (Harpo – Happy). Ha. Ha!
Miss Julie read Claude the Dog by Dick Gackenbach about a selfless pooch who gave all of his Christmas presents to another dog who had no home. It was a very sweet story. And then Miss Julie (with the generous support of the Friends of the Chevy Chase Library ) gave me a special dog tag. I love presents!! It had my name on it so I’m not going to give it to anyone. I have it on now and it suits me perfectly. It makes me happy.
Two more books that I particularly liked were: Max Spaniel: Funny Lunch by David Catrow and
I Stink by Kate McMullan.
Another thing that makes me happy… JOKES! I love them. Here’s a new one for you:
Q. How do you catch a squirrel?
A. Climb a tree and act like a nut.
Smiles from a happy dog!
Happy
