On Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen! It’s Ava Baby. Ho. Ho. HO. I love the holidays (almost as much as BELLY RUBS) and I was thrilled to wear my spiffy holiday outfit tonight. The other PAL guests had holiday attire on as well. It was a very merry occasion.
I really, really, really wanted to hear a Christmas book and a Christmas story featuring a dog would be an extra bonus. There is a dog, Max, in the Grinch who Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss but I’m not wild about that book because the poor doggie is made into a reindeer and forced to help the Grinch do his dirty work. I always feel so badly for poor Max. Happily, Miss Julie found just the one! A Clifford the big red dog story called Christmas Angel by Quinlan Lee. I also heard two other good dog books; Letters from a Desperate Dog by Eileen Christelow and Dog Loves Books by Louise Yates and a couple of good, quick reads; Baa Baa, Black Sheep by Annie Kubler and Trucks by Byron Barton.
Between stories, I went for walks with different families around the library. It is less rigorous to walk around the library than it is when I go on my park hikes. However, I am now on winter break from my park work, so I am grateful for the extra exercise.
Oh! Tonight I learned something interesting about myself. Apparently my name was a mistake. I was supposed to be called Ave, a Latin word. However my friend goofed and misspelled it. So, I became Ava instead. Who knew? In my four years of living, this was the first time I heard that story! I was gob-smacked.
