Guten Tag! Hallo. My name is Chance and I am a Pomeranian (or a Pom Pom as I like to call myself). If you’d like to learn more about my breed, then please check out The Pomeranian by Happeth Jones. At 18 months old, I am already retired. I am a retired show dog. My life of glitz and glam was a blast while it lasted. I strutted my stuff like no other on the runway. And now, I look forward to the next chapter of my life as a PAL reading specialist.
Tonight was my first time at the Chevy Chase Library and I had a ball. Speaking of balls, my favorite kind of balls to play with are ping pong balls! They are the perfect size for my petite size mouth to hold. But I digress, back to the details of my evening at the library. Where was I?! Oh, yes… It was my first time at the library and I wanted to show all the guests my tricks. I sat. I lay down. I stood up. I danced! Each time there was thunderous applause followed by a tasty treat. I felt like I was back in the spotlight and it felt grand.
Next I heard some stories. I enjoyed Dog Donovan by Diana Hendry and Sally gets a Job by Stephen Huneck. Between stories I took gentle strolls through the library. The Friends of the Chevy Chase Library were having the grand opening of their annual book sale. I wanted to have a peek at their show dog collection. Once a show dog, always a show dog!
Well, rest is important for beauty so, if you’ll excuse me, then I should say farewell for now.
With a bow and a curtsy,
