Join the Black Voices Book Club

Dear Neighbors,

For black history month, the Black Voices Book Club at Shepherd Park Neighborhood Library  discussed Some Sing, Some Cry by Ntozake Shange and Ifa Bayeza. This is the 17th novel the club has read. The book club focuses on fiction by African-American, Caribbean and African authors. Books we select are always available in the DC Library system and are placed on hold for club members to check out. For those who prefer to buy their own copies, the books can be purchased at low cost on sites such as amazon.com.

Prospective members can join us March 21 to discuss our 18th book, Not Without Laughter, by Langston Hughes. To learn more about the book club and past books we have read, please become our fan on Facebook.

Club members form a diverse, committed and energetic group. The club will be even better with your participation! We look forward to you joining us Monday, March 21, at our next meeting, or any time.

If you have any questions, please call 202-541-6100.
