Published on Monday, March 14, 2011 - 10:00am
Come hear debut author Maya Soetoro-Ng, sister of President Obama, present a lyrical story relaying the loving wisdom of their late mother to a young granddaughter she never met.
Friday, April 15, from 6:30-8 p.m.
This family event is free, but prior registration is required. The event is fully subscribed; no walk-ins can be accommodated.
Soetoro-Ng was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and is a writer and educator with a Ph.D. in international comparative education. She says her book was inspired by her young daughter Suhaila’s questions about her grandmother.
The luminous illustrations of Suhaila’s nocturnal adventure were created by the award-winning artist Yuyi Morales. The evening will include a reading, a time for questions and a chance to meet Soetoro-Ng during the book signing.
