50th Anniversary of the Peace Corps

The Peace Corps was founded 50 years ago this month. It was the brainchild of President John Kennedy, and was created by the late Sargent Shriver, President Kennedy's brother-in-law. Thousands of American volunteers have served in the Peace Corps all over the world.
