Good news for iPad owners (as well as those with iPods and iPhones who are able to read on tiny screens)! The Overdrive application now allows library card holders to download Epub format books directly to their devices without any confusing workarounds.
And the collection is fabulous. Alongside the classics, popular new books that are available for a three-week download include:
The Four-Hour Body: An Uncommon Guide to Rapid Fat-Loss, Incredible Sex, and Becoming Superhuman by Timothy Ferriss
Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese
The Saturday Big Tent Wedding Party: The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency Series, Book 12
by Alexander McCall Smith
The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer
Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience and Redemption
by Laura Hillenbrand
And many, many more.
The free Overdrive application is available in the iTunes App Store, and the books open directly into a built-in e-reader. Make sure that you have your library card number handy, and before you download any books, you'll need a username and password from Adobe. Have fun reading!
