Intrigue at the Palisades Library

Rachel Wildavsky, authorPalisades Neighborhood Library was proud to welcome author Rachel Wildavsky for a visit this past Tuesday. As the author of The Secret of Rover Wildavsky intrigued the audience with exciting excerpts from her book and a discussion about crafting heart-pounding plots. The kids kept asking, "but what is the secret of Rover?" There's only one way to find out, and it's to read the book.

Participants had some fun with decorations, including the taped body outline on the floor, and some scrumptious spy-themed cupcakes, with secret files on top. Nothing goes with sprinkles like a classified file.

Several children were sprawled afterward in the Children's Room with The Secret of Rover in their hands, starting out on the first chapter.  The secret so intrigued participants that several of them made drawings on our meeting room white board inspired by the book.

After the event was over, the Library staff was bushed! About 50 people came out to meet the author, so we lay down for a well-deserved nap.
