Art for Sale at New DC Public Library Exhibit
Art lovers who frequent the DC Public Library’s exhibits will have a unique opportunity when GA Gardner’s showcase opens October 15. The works displayed in “Color Content: An Exhibition of the Art of GA Gardner” will be available for purchase.
The exhibit, which runs through November 20, features 25 abstract and collage pieces reflecting Gardner’s rendering of nature. “My work is about the expression of color,” Gardner said. “I create art that educates about the complexity of color and its effect on form in our surroundings.”
While the sales will occur on Gardner’s website, twenty percent of the artist’s proceeds will go to the DC Public Library Foundation to support more fine arts programming at the Library.
“Art sales are one of the new ways that people are supporting the Library” said Pamela Stovall, associate director for the DC Public Library. “We are thankful to have partners like Mr. Gardner help the Library continue the programming that many District residents enjoy.”
The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is located at 901 G st. NW, near the Gallery Place and Metro Center subway stations. The exhibit will be open during Library hours.
