From Freddie's Diary: August 2, 2011

Leo was the man tonight! It was his birthday, and what a swell party it was. Soon it’ll be my turn. My birthday is September 5. Right around the corner! I share a birthday with Freddie Mercury from Queen. Most kids do not know who he is. Maybe you know some of these other famous Freddies: The Bobbsey Twins Freddie and Flossie and the Little Seed by Laura Lee Hope, Victor Vito and Freddie Vasco, Two Polars Bears on a Mission to save Klondike Café! by Laurie Berkner, or Freddie Goes on an Airplane By Nicola Smee. I spell my name with an “ie” at the end: FREDDIE. Some folks spell it with a “y” at the end: FREDDY. Mr. Walter Brooks writes lots of great stories about Freddy the pig. My favorite is Freddy the Cowboy. Hee haw! And Dietlog Reiche writes about a cute little hamster named Freddy. I recommend you start with I, Freddy. It’s Book One in the Golden Hamster Saga.

Like Leo, I am from North Carolina. We are both easy-going fellas. I have got two years and 20 pounds on him though!

Oh, I hear the door opening… I had better go! I do not want to miss going for a ride in the car. I LOVE car rides!

See you soon at the PAL Pajama Parties at the Takoma Park Library!

Fondly,
Freddie
