Hispanic Heritage Celebration
Published on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 - 1:47pm
Hispanic Heritage Month is Sept. 15 to Oct. 15.
We’ll be celebrating Hispanic Heritage at Takoma Park Library on Saturday, September 24. Join us for an afternoon full of music, food, stories and fun! The fiesta begins with a bilingual story time at 1 p.m., with our neighbor Sr. Valdes, who has graciously agreed to play us some songs on his guitar.
Then follow us out to the lawn for music provided by Sr. Mauricio Gomez of el zol radio 99.1. We’ll be serving samples of Hispanic foods and signing people up for library cards. The kids can also get some festive face paint, a free book and make a craft.
Visit between 1 and 3:30 p.m. to be part of the celebration!
