September 24 to October 1 is Banned Books Week at public and school libraries around the country. Celebrate your freedom to read and pick up a challenged or banned book!
Ever wonder why books are challenged? These are the top reasons listed for 2010: homosexuality, religious viewpoint, unsuited to age group, offensive language, inaccurate, sex education, sexually explicit, violence, insensitivity, drugs, sexism, racism and political viewpoint.
Closing books shuts out ideas. Celebrate the freedom to read!
