Sing, Talk and Read

This fall, the Woodridge Neighborhood Library is offering a six-week series of baby lap time sessions for children ages birth to 18 months, and their parents or caregivers, called STAR Workshops.

STAR stands for Sing, Talk and Read, and each week will be a different session, featuring fun stories, songs, fingerplays and bounces.  Each week's session will also highlight a different early literacy skill that parents and caregivers may start developing with their babies as early as birth, and each participating family will receive free books and CDs so that these skills may be practiced at home as the child grows.

STAR Workshops will be held every Wednesday evening, starting September 28 at 7 p.m., and continue through November 2.  If you and your baby are interested in attending the STAR workshops, you must register by contacting Emillie at the library, 202-541-6226.
