New Book Club: Dear America/My America
Beginning in November, experience American history through the eyes of a child living life at that time and discovering his/her place in it.
Imagine living through the bombing of Pearl Harbor, fighting against the British during the Revolutionary War, experiencing the Spanish Influenza tear through the country or discovering the imaginable as a slave girl learn to read. Follow these stories and many more through diaries of those who experienced the events. Pursue connections across time periods and settings, characters and themes as well as learning how to access primary and secondary resources to further enhance the experience.
This book club will replace the American Girls Book Club. Books will be available for pick up at the Reference Desk in the Children’s Room.
