WAMU 88.5 Presents an Oral History Recording Session
Published on Thursday, November 3, 2011 - 4:35pm
Record your story of the place you call home on Saturday, November 19th. This session will take place from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Neighborhood Library story time room.
Bring family or friends, photographs and your stories.
Door-To-Door at DC Public Library takes WAMU 88.5 listeners into the living rooms of District residents. We cover topics such as how a neighborhood received its name, notable residents, public perceptions, little known histories and architecture. This project is funded through the Library Services and Technology Act, sponsored by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
A few times a year, WAMU reporters and library staff will be interviewing residents about their neighborhoods. Come share your story with us -- it might even air on public radio. All stories will be archived at in the Washingtoniana Division of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library for years to come.
Interviews will take about 15 minutes. Walk-ins are welcome, but if you would like to reserve a specific time slot call Anina at 202-727-0971.
