December Book Club Title:

One day while visiting the Victoria and Albert Museum, Olive Wellwood decides to take home a runaway she discovered sketching in the basement of the newly opened museum. Through his eyes we are given a glimpse of the seemingly storybook life of the children’s author, her family and friends. But everything is not what it seems, either in life or in the personalized tales she weaves for each of her seven children. From the Booker Prize-winning author of Possession comes this tale of familial struggles, spanning across the European continent and unfolding against the backdrop of the Victorian era, through the years following the First World War.
The Mt. Pleasant Library Book Club will next meet Wednesday, January 4, at 7 p.m. at La Casa, located right next door to the interim library. For more information, please contact Ana Elisa de Campos Salles at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-671-3122.
