Cleveland Park Mystery Book Club January selection

Bookcover: Broken ShoreJoin us January 5 to discuss Australian author Peter Temple's The Broken Shore, which won the 2007 Crime Writer's Association Duncan Lawrie Dagger Award (formerly known as the Gold Dagger). In addition to other awards, the author has won the Ned Kelly Award, Australia's most prestigious prize for crime fiction five times.  Considered a smart, sophisticated thriller with vivid characters and sense of place, its main character, Joe Cashin, is frequently compared to Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch.

The Mystery Book Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at Barnes & Noble, 12th and E streets N.W., at 6:30 p.m.
