New Bellevue Library Opens February 21
The Washington Highlands Interim Library, at 4037 S. Capitol St. SW, will close on Saturday, January 28 at 5:30 p.m. Library services will resume on Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at the new Bellevue Neighborhood Library at 115 Atlantic St. SW.
The new two-story library will be 22,000 square feet and feature:
- More than 40,000 books, DVDs and other items with space to hold 80,000
- Separate reading areas for adults, teens and children
- 40 public access computers, free Wi-Fi Internet access and a mobile laptop cart with 20 computers
- Comfortable seating for 200 customers
- A large program room for up to 100 people and two 12-person conference rooms
- Four quiet study rooms for up to two people
During the move, library customers can return books to any DC Public Library and pick up holds at the Parklands-Turner Neighborhood Library at 1547 Alabama Ave. SE.
