Jazz Appreciation Month

Celebrations for All Ages

Jazz Appreciation Month LogoJoin Northwest One library as we celebrate the Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of American History’s Jazz Appreciation Month. On display in the library you can find books, music and DVDs that highlight America’s original music form. Titles include biographies of Duke Ellington and Count Bassie, as well as non-fiction titles that focus on the historical and cultural significance of the genre.

Library events include an Open Mic Night on Thursday, April 19 at 6 p.m. Members of the community will share original music and poetry, or just recite or perform their favorites. On Wednesday April 25, the NW1 story times will feature picture books about Jazz as well as live music especially for preschool age children.
