Domestication and Evolution

How We All Got This Way
domesticationOn Thursday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m., the Cleveland Park Library will host a discussion of the process of domestication beginning in the Neolithic period. The topic centers around the dog, the first domesticated animal (unless one includes humans).
Domestication of animals and plants led to an enormous change in the way humans lived, easily rivaling the changes occurring from the creation of tools and weapons.

The library has a great deal of relevant material on this topic. Especially interesting is the work of Temple Grandin, Steve Budianski, and Andrew Holloran. The program will include an hour-long visual presentation of Dogs Decoded.
