Free Bike Repair and Workshop
Published on Thursday, April 19, 2012 - 11:54am
May is National Bike Month. To celebrate, Petworth is holding a free bike repair day in our meeting room/patio area outside.
Come on down to the library and learn how to fix your bike. Volunteers will be available to perform and teach basic bike repair and maintenance. We'll be here, rain or shine!
Stop in by 1:30 pm to meet local cyclist Matt Wittmer, author of Where to Bike: Washington, D.C.
From the back cover of the book:
"From the popular trails to the hidden gems, from the city to the country, for adults and for children, this comprehensive cycling guidebook provides the details which enable riders of all levels to enjoy each and every biking experience. It's clear, as well, that Matt Wittmer had the reader in mind when researching and mapping these select rides, as his descriptions include on-the-ground details you can't get from most other guides."
Copies of Where to Bike: Washington, D.C. will be available for checkout during the workshop and can also be placed on hold through our website.
