Tour de DCPL

National Bike Month

May is National Bike Month and on May 19, DC Public Library will mark its third Tour de DCPL, a free bike tour of five of our neighborhood libraries. This year, the tour will be moving east of the river and start at the Southwest Neighborhood Library at 9 a.m.  From there, the tour will visit Anacostia Neighborhood Library, Francis Gregory Interim Library (including a ride by the site of new building) and Dorothy Height/Benning Neigborhood Library, and finish up at Southeast Neighborhood Library by Eastern Market.

Biking is both a healthy and environmentally friendly way to explore your city and libraries.  Each of the new DC Public Library buildings and construction projects are designed with sustainability in mind. These design principles can be seen on the tour at Anacostia, Francis Gregory and Dorothy Height/Benning.

For more information on Bike Month events in the Washington area, check out the Washington Area Bicyclist Association.  Meanwhile, be sure to sign up for the Tour de DCPL and check out some of these bike-related items at your neighborhood DC Public Library.
